Medical Student Missions Announces New Executive Director: Mark W. Back, MPH
Medical Student Missions is excited to announce that Mark Back will be taking over the Executive Director position as former Director Eric Clement steps down.
Mark comes to us from a background in public health policy and management. He received his Bachelors of Science in health sciences from Purdue University and his Masters in public health policy and management from the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.
Mark is the Founder and President of Direction Health Innovations, and has worked in public health and healthcare research and implementation, as well as mHealth and public relations.
Mark's research has included global health policy, political influences in the public's health, cardiovascular disease screening systems for public safety workers, and US health care reform.
Mark volunteers as a search and rescue K-9 handler with his dog, Nali, where they specialize in trailing and human remains detection. He, like Dr. William Forgey is an avid explorer and runs a backpacking and outdoor education website.
He is currently a Special Deputy Sheriff and Director of Media & Public Relations at the Lake County Indiana Sheriff’s Department.
