This opportunity is open to all licensed M.D., D.O., Ph.D., D.D.S., and Ph.D. and other doctorate level professionals .  Being a francophone is a plus, but we can arrange for a simultaneous translator if appropriate. MSM can provide translation services for your power points and syllabus material if necessary.

We also accept qualified RN, NP, and PA to specific classes in the Medical School, the Nursing School and the Health Science School.

Attached here is the curriculum for the Medical School. (Click here for the French language Curriculum .pdf).

MSM will coordinate all aspects of the credentialing process and scheduling.

Interested parties should email William W. Forgey, M.D.(doc4g@aol.com) , with the subject: “Medical Teaching in Haiti.” Please include your contact phone numbers in the email for a return call from Doctor Forgey.

Your costs for this volunteer experience is primarily your airfare to Haiti, and related expenses traveling to Haiti.  These amounts should be deductible. If you are a member of the Wilderness Medical Society, this activity would qualify you for Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine experience credits which MSM will assist in obtaining.  You will receive full coverage for medical insurance costs, evacuations and security insurance paid for by the MSM through our Global Rescue partnership and the Michael W. Back Memorial Fund . Your expenses in Haiti, including food, transportation, and housing are included and are [aid by the University Henri Christophe. Bring money for alcohol, souvenirs, local tour opportunities, and don’t forget the $10 entry visa charge to be paid at the time of arrival at the airport.

You will receive full travel, a special personal items check list (different from the one needed for our medical service missions listed elsewhere on this web site), pre-travel document requirements and suggested immunizations and prophylaxis suggestions from MSM.

Your curriculum content will be flexible and highly controlled by you. MSM will coordinate with the University Curriculum Committee with regard to your credentialing, scheduling, and academic appointment.

Your scheduled dates will generally be of your choosing. 3 days to 4 weeks are perfectly fine lengths of stay. A Monday through Friday schedule might prove ideal in any ways, as it gives you two days to travel to Miami or Fort Lauderdale or other U.S. points for the flight to Cape Haitian (Cape Haitien). Flights are available on a variety of airlines, including American Airlines. You will be asked to make your own flight arrangements to Cape Haitian where you will be met by University officials and an MSM representative at the airport.

This is a beautiful and fully equipped campus with over 2000 eager students, 200 of which are in the medical tracts. It is a state university – tuition is free, but entry is through very competitive examinations. You will be influencing the brightest and most energetic of the future medical profession in Haiti, and collaborating with dedicated Haitian professionals.

I will look forward to working with you on a personal teaching opportunity at the Henry Christophe Medical School in Limonade, Haiti.
